Mission & Impact

Guided by purpose, driven by leadership, and united through the power of football.

Mission, Vision & Values

The National Veterans Tournament (NVT) is built on a strong foundation of purpose, leadership, and community. Through its mission, vision, and core values, the organization empowers veteran players to stay connected to the game while making a meaningful impact in society. By promoting unity, mentorship, and service, NVT continues to inspire positive change both on and off the field.

OUR Mission

To unite retired and veteran soccer players through competitive football while advancing community development and humanitarian initiatives.

Our Vision

To create a globally recognized network of former footballers committed to leadership, mentorship, and measurable community impact.

Our Core Values

Sportsmanship

We compete with purpose and pride—upholding the highest standards of respect, integrity, and excellence on and off the field. Every match reflects our commitment to fair play and professionalism.

Community

Our impact goes far beyond the game. NVT veterans remain actively engaged in uplifting communities, investing time, resources, and leadership into meaningful causes locally and globally.

Unity

Football is our common language. Through the game, we connect cultures, bridge nations, and unite generations, creating a powerful network built on shared passion and identity.

Leadership

NVT is a platform for influence. Our members evolve into mentors, role models, and changemakers, shaping lives and inspiring the next generation both within and beyond the sport.

Mission

The National Veterans Tournament was created with a clear mission: to harness the influence and leadership of former football players to strengthen communities and inspire the next generation. The tournament pursues several key objectives:

Promote a healthy

lifestyle through soccer at local chapters and organize an annual national tournament for member clubs in the USA and Canada.

Promote collaboration

with other organizations operating within and beyond the United States if their goals do not conflict with NVT-USA FA's interests and aspirations.

Promote philanthropy and community

development programs to enhance the well-being of less privileged communities worldwide.

Provide a platform

that enables professional networking, socializing, business partnerships, marketing, community outreach, and entrepreneurship.

The NVT-USA FA shall annually organize a competitive ceremonial keep-fit National Veterans Tournament hosted by one of the participating clubs. The event shall take place on the preceding Labor Day weekend, and all 52 participating veteran soccer clubs from the United States and Canada shall convene to compete and have a great time.

Community Impact

Beyond the competition on the field, the NVT has grown into a community development platform. The tournament provides opportunities for veteran players to remain active as mentors, coaches, and community leaders, while also supporting initiatives in education, youth development, and humanitarian assistance.

Each host city benefits from the tournament through local economic activity, tourism, and community engagement, as teams, families, and supporters travel from across the country and internationally to participate. Local businesses, cultural organizations, and civic leaders often collaborate with NVT organizers to create a vibrant festival atmosphere that celebrates sport and community.

More importantly, the NVT demonstrates how sport can serve as a bridge across generations and cultures, empowering former athletes to give back while inspiring younger players to pursue excellence both on and off the field.
