Club Profile :

Founded in 1994, the New York Lions (NYL) originated as a fraternal social group in New York City, dedicated to fostering community and physical wellness through the sport of soccer. Over the past three decades, the organization has undergone a significant evolution, transitioning from casual weekend gatherings into a structured and highly organized athletic institution. This professional trajectory was marked by several key milestones, including the team’s first official kit acquisition between 2004 and 2006 and the establishment of formal executive governance in 2010 with the very first democratically conducted election of its inaugural president, Abedi Steve.

Since officially affiliating with the NVT in 2019, NYL has emerged as a formidable competitive force, bolstered by a “never say die” philosophy that has already yielded two championship trophies(AFCON cup in the Bronx, and the Olympic trophy tournament in Boston). Today, the organization stands as a movement centered on solidarity and long-term legacy. Our strategic mission is twofold: to maintain a standard of excellence that secures future NVT titles and to leverage our organizational growth to serve as the official host of the NVT. From our humble beginnings to our current steady growth, the New York Lions remain committed to advancing the journey of veteran soccer on the national stage… the journey continues
